The Lord Badri Narayana at Badrina:th is swayambu (self-risen). Since he is a teacher and imparts the Thirumantram , hes in the form of a yo:gi (tapasvi) with yo:ga mudra and is in padma:sana. The vigraha is a saligra:ma as well. One can see this divine form very well during the sayana a:rti that takes place late evening.
