Our revered acharya, His Holiness Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji appeared on this earth more than six decades ago, on Deepavali, dispelling the darkness in our lives and illuminating our journey towards the Divine.

HH Swamiji has exemplified this principle by spreading the timeless message of Sri Ramanujacharya Swamy that all souls are equal. The magnificent Statue of Equality in Bharat stands as a testament to this.

Standing tall in Houston, USA, is Mighty Hanuman, Sundara Se:thu, the beautiful builder of bridges between souls and also connecting individual souls with the Supreme. Having conceptualized this Statue of Union, HH Swamiji is sharing the profound wisdom of Vedic scriptures, vasudhaiva kutumbakam, Universal Family.

Introduction of Jeeyar Awardee

Vedas are the authoritative collection of ‘texts’ that instruct human beings with what and how of responsibilities so we can serve the purpose of our birth as humans. All sages, munis, and acharyas accepted these as collections of divine sounds that are unauthored by humans. From time immemorial, Vedas are being studied in the ancient guru-sishya mode. At the time of Vedavyasa, the collection of Vedic texts was available in 1131 branches. Today, only 10 of those branches are available. Because there were no students ready to learn the other branches, the other branches are now inaccessible.

To encourage and protect the scholars who are studying the available portions of Veda, HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji took the initiative of recognizing and honouring at least one scholar every year. The great initiative took shape in the year of 1994. The award is presented by Jeeyar Educational Trust, JET. The goal of the program is to award those scholars who studied at least one branch thoroughly and completely, studied at least one of the scriptures and spread(ing) the nectar of knowledge they have learnt.

Since 1994, the award is presented every year on the auspicious day of Dipavali in the name of Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji, the renowned acharya who reestablished the path of Vedas. Till date, JET earned the great fortune of awarding 33 such scholars each of who perfected at least one of the branches of Vedas.

Below is a brief detail of the scholars.

PAST AWARDEES

In this year of Kro:dhi, JET nominated Sri Khagendracharya who was born in Nepal, studied in JET, completed ghana:ntham in the kha:nva branch of sukla yajurveda. Additionally, he studied sa:sthra and trained many students as vedic scholars.

This year, JET is also recognizing Sriman Bethavolu Ramabramham with the title of Vidwanmani for his significant efforts in mastering knowledge relating to this world of science.
