3. Gya:na Mandapam - a. Lord Selvanambi, Me:lko:te
4. Pushpa Mandapam - c. Lord Sriniva:sa, Tirumala

Note : There are four major temples that Bhagavad Ra:ma:nuja was associated with, in many capacities. Each of these temples and deities played a crucial role in life of Ra:ma:nuja:cha:rya.

Just as Lord Srimanna:ra:yana enjoys all facilities and luxury in Paramapadam, Lord Rangana:tha also thrives in Bho:ga at Thiruvarangam like listening to E:ka:ntha Veena in the early morning. Hence Sri:rangam is known by the name ""Bho:ga Mandapam""

When Lord Rangana:tha requested (through Arayars) Lord Varadara:ja that Bhagavad Ra:ma:nuja should be sent to Sri:rangam for good, He released Bhagavad Ra:ma:nuja. This sacrifice of Lord Varada earned the Kanchi temple the name ""Thya:ga Mandapam"".

Later, Bhagavad Ra:ma:nuja visited Tirumala Hills and organized the daily routines and procedures for regular services. He had also deputed his disciple, Anantha:zhwa:n to take care of Nandavanam garden and offer flower decorations to the Lord on a daily basis. Hence ThiruVe:ngadam got the name ""Pushpa Mandapam"".

When Bhagavad Ra:ma:nuja had to escape from Chola Kingdom due to atrocities of hostile ruler, He chose to settle down in Me:lko:te. With the help of local ruler King Vishnu Vardhan He built temples and Mutt. Bhagavad Ra:ma:nuja made sure that Me:lko:te has the pride of place in the Sri:Vaishnava samprada:yam and it became famous by the name ""Gya:na Mandapam"

Question : Do you know there is a temple which has two Dhwaja Sthambhams on two opposite sides. Which temple?

ANSWER : Sri: ku:rmam temple in Sri:ka:kulam, Andhra Pradesh

Note : Bhagavad Ra:ma:nuja visited Sri:ku:rmam temple in 11 century AD as part of piligrimage. The main deity was mistakenly worshipped as Shiva lingam, facing east with Dhwaja stham in that direction. Ra:ma:nujacharya showed evidences from Pura:nas to the local rulers and trustees of the temple that it is indeed the ku:rma / tortoise avatar of Vishnu and on keen observation, one can see the shell, the head and tail on the main deity. However, the locals wanted some sort of divine proof before their eyes and challenged Bhagavad Ra:ma:nuja if the deity is indeed form of Vishnu, can He change the direction now? On Bhagavad Ra:ma:nuja's prayers, the main deity did turn around the next day to dismay of all locals. The second flag post (dhwaja sthambham) was installed in the western direction since then. This is the only temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu in ku:rma avata:ra. Bhagavad Ra:ma:nuja was instrumental in setting up proper practices in many ancient temples like Tirumala, Srirangam, Melkote, etc.
