Our scriptures state that God meditates intently for 4 months every year on ways to strengthen his mood of protection for all beings. This action is called ‘Yo:ga Nidra’ and takes place during the Chaturmasya Vratam observed by Sanyasis from July to October. This is especially pertinent this year with political instability and a health pandemic affecting the entire globe.
Let’s contemplate on what we can do during this time.
This is paramount. Example: If you really love your father, wouldn’t you want to be part of his life instead of simply saying – ‘all the best, good luck!”? Similarly, if we are devoted to God, it is only natural that we would want to be utilised by Him as an instrument to do whatever actions He plans on taking.
But, how do we know what His plans are?
His plan is to protect every being that follows dharma to keep the existence running in proper rhythm. If anyone violates his dharma, crosses his own limits, this causes trouble for not only him, but all those connected to him (i.e., the root cause of the current virus situation or border disputes). There are two ways to curb this unrighteous action.
Either those trouble-makers can be made to understand (by proper guidance or out of fear) and eventually get situated back to their appropriate limits
Or the trouble-maker goes so far that God personally teaches him a lesson or via a medium on here on earth – you or me or anyone (even a grass blade can become a Brahma Astra if God wishes)!
Example: Ravana went so far with his atrocities that Sri Rama ended up destroying him after giving multiple chances to correct his mistake.
We are in the same situation today. Therefore, God’s plan is to protect righteous practises by ensuring that trouble-makers are taught a lesson, even if it involves destroying them. Thus, we pray God to:
- Give us the strength to fight these evil forces
Ultimately destroy these forces by His own will using us as his instrument

Acharya’s grace is essential to stay determined on the goal
To seek God the strength to become His tool through Acharya’s blessings, these special two months (पक्षा वै मासाः – fifteen days can be taken as a month; therefore 4 months can come down to 2 months if needed) will be spent at Vasudasa Ashram in Nadigaddepalem where HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji’s Brindavan exists.
We especially pray for our divine acharya’s grace to help the world understand the importance of our Vedic practices and wisdom for universal peace and joy. Therefore, at the divine feet of Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji, this Chaturmasya Vratam will take place holding this special prayer in together with all of you. While the residents of Nadigaddepalem can participate physically, everyone else can take part locally and virtually online.

Let the collective strength of all our prayers become a movement which energises us from within, providing the true immunity to fight any challenge and emerge victorious.
