60 years ago, in the same year named Sa:rvari, His Holiness Pedda Jeeayar Swamiji started performing Srirama Krathuvus and completed 108 krathuvus in the span of 9 in years in different places. Not only the villages where it was conducted, but people from across villages got inspired and transformed their lives with the spiritual strength blessed by Sri Swamiji.

My grandmother who is 92 years old was also one of the fortunate ones who got a chance to participate in one such Srirama Krathuvu events and today when I was speaking to her, she had so much pride to be associated with the event and the love for her Acharya who transformed so many lives. She described how the people in the whole village and villages across came together and pitched in whatever they could contribute, whether it was rice, bricks, money etc. for the Krathuvu,

Till today, you could hear Hare Rama Bhajans in many houses of the village. Sri Swamiji told the villagers it seems, “You may be illiterate, but you are educated in Rama thathvam”.
Today, the kainkaryam we do for Srirama Krathuvu or 108 Divya Thirupathis may be very little, but it will be a memorable experience for our next generations. It’s a proud moment for me and my daughter that my grandparents have been part of the Srirama Krathuvu conducted by HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji.
