An archaka or acharya should be a learned one. Deity should be beautiful. The material used in the a:ra:dhana should be the best one given by devotees, good hearted people. God can then be realised and in felt in proximity.

What is the importance of Vedas in this modern world?

In this modern world, let’s look at the definition of the term called antique*. It means ‘a collectable object such as a piece of furniture or work of art that has a high value because of its age and quality’. When the world is marking a collectable physical object’s as antique and multiplying its value based on age and quality, what can we speak of Vedas and their value…?

The quality of content in Vedas can empower one with the highest state of existence. The age of Vedas is beyond one’s ability to calculate time, and are called ana:di, not restricted to a particular time or date, and is eternal unaffected by time.

Vedas are therefore revered as the greatest source of wisdom not only by one community or one race but by all the seekers of the truth in the world.

To summarise in simple terms, there are three essentials to realise and experience the proximity of God. God always exists everywhere, but these three essentials help you realise that you are near God.

Sousttavam in murthi, the construct and appearance of the Deity that attracts your manas as soon as the eyes see the deity in the temple • Manthra suddhi in Archaka or Acharya, the one who is performing a:ra:dhana, prayers and services to God must be so clean that he is not blocked by anything else to connect with God • Viswasa purthi in the seeker, the seeker must have genuine interest and complete faith in the process

Let’s all trust in the process and experience the proximity of God…
