Don’t lie. Don’t steal. Don’t cheat. Don’t be lazy. Don’t hate anyone. Don’t try to dominate others. Don’t be arrogant. Eat moderately. Respect women. Help the elderly. Care for everyone. Cooperate and collaborate with others. Don’t abuse natural resources. Respond to the righteous causes.

As parents and teachers, we educate our children with all these basic values and much more. The result of all this learning is to grow together in peace, towards a blissful state that lasts forever. The atmosphere in a temple practically shows the children that we are all equal in the eyes of the Supreme power, God despite of any kind of physical differences w.r.t caste, colour, creed, race, gender, nationality, etc. If the temple becomes the first classroom for learning every day, those students have the most possibility to become the best practitioners of dharma, divine righteousness.

Every day, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji gives first-class in Sanskrit to the students of Vedic Gurukulam at Divya Saketham. Swamiji explains the significance of the day in history and teaches values one should strive to impart from it. Swamiji delivers the essence of ancient scriptures with ease in various ways to these children to enrichen their lives as well all of society.

Each day, a student comes prepared to speak for two to three minutes on Vira Hanumath Vira:t Se:thu Deeksha. The student talks about improving immunity from within to handle any circumstance, physical illness from outside or mental anxiety from within. The prayer seeks Hanuman’s grace. Sri Hanuman successfully handled every hurdle that came across in his endeavors to serve Sri Ramachandra.

The session ends with a collective prayer for the well-being of everyone. We are blessed to have such an atmosphere grooming these children to become torchbearers of Vedic wisdom and its practice for the future.

Most of us live outside the temple premises. What can we do to impart the same in our children?

When there is a will to implement such noble ideas, God provides away by creating an atmosphere to support it. God is in a temple in Deity form for the health of society to accept any prayers done collectively. But, the same God resides in your home also as a Deity. Your home itself is therefore a temple. A heart that genuinely seeks wisdom about God and surrenders to Him is also a beautiful abode for God.

Start speaking to your children about good things you already know, share some stories, listen to their questions. If you cannot answer, approach a guru. Continue to spend a few minutes every day to impart divine righteousness in the family. When every heart and home becomes a temple, the world will automatically be a beautiful place for everyone keeping us away from the impact of all kinds of viruses.
