Hundreds of people thronged to see Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami as He stepped into Venkateswara Alayam in Kotha Palyem, Rolla Mandalam in Anantapur District on the 19th of Jan 2018.

Swami said, ‘We don’t become God, We reach Him and experience the bliss of such great thatvam!’ How do we know all this? How did this wisdom reach us? It is through Ramanujacharya that we learnt the way to interpret many aspects of Vedic wisdom!

Swami asked, ‘What makes one great? Is it – What you do or Who you are?’ We know the answer. The answer is ‘What you do’. But how many of us are self-centric and brag about our income, our pompous celebrations, our PhDs, our looks, and more?! Who we are takes priority over What we do for most of us! Ramanujacharya was never that way!

Ramanujacharya is an exemplary acharya who expanded his self to the entire world! He approached anyone who is knowledgeable, he shared his wisdom with everyone who was interested.

Ramanujacharya very graciously accepted Kanchipurna (who was born a sudra) as his Acharya! Kanchipurna was blessed to be able to converse with Kanchi Varadaraja Perumal. Thus Ramanujacharya sought his refugee to get answers to 6 questions that he was struggling to know the answers for.

  1. What is right? (bhe:dam or abhe:dam) Difference or no-Difference – in specific to concluding the right philosophy on existence
  2. Who is the Supreme?
  3. What is the means to reach the Supreme?
  4. Does one need to think of the Supreme at the time of death?
  5. When does one get liberation, the bliss (moksham)?
  6. To whom (which Acharya) should I surrender?

Kanchipurna, was highly respected and revered for his good qualities, great devotion and wisdom.

Fire can burn any amount of cotton in a split second, similarly – the name of God can burn many sins that we may have committed knowingly or unknowingly. Ramanucharya shared the name of God in its true form with all of us! With all due respects to Ramanujacharya, we invite all of you to visit ‘Statue of Equality‘ and be part of the celebration!
