They both met in Rajamahendri, Andhra Pradesh, when they were in teens. They worked together for more than six decades for a common goal. One created content and another conveyed it in an attractive format. It is that content which brought the readers closer to the eternal realities of life. It made the entire spiritual seeker community productive towards the ultimate purpose. Consequently, it paved path for a cohesive and holistic well-being of the society.

One of the two has focus levels were so intense that he ‘failed’ an exam for not completing the paper because he spent all the time on one question. The question that he could not lift his pen off was about the following verse in chapter 2 of Bhagavad Githa.

na thwe: va:ham ja:thu na:sam
na thwam ne:me: jana:dhipa:ha |
na chaiva na bhavishya:maha
sarve: vayamathah param ||

His answer spanned over 3 pages, back and forth. The examiner Panditha Rangacharya Swami in Pithapuram center who corrected his paper called him, appreciated, thanked him for presenting such an accurate and beautiful answer to the question.

It was T.K. Gopalacharya Swami (1903 – 1993) who was tirelessly studying ancient texts, authoring books, enabling others to do the same, teaching the seekers. When his body began to deteriorate 2 days prior to leaving the gross body, he continued his normal course of teaching. As he wished, he left the body whilst studying a Vedic scripture…

This year, Gopa:lo:pa:yanam award 2023 is presentend to Panditharatna, Ve:da:ntha Va:chaspathi, Sathsamprada:ya Vidwanmani, Sathsamprada:ya Suda:mbudhi, Dr. E. A. Singaracharya Swami of Narasapuram. He authored books providing Telugu translation for many great works of Swami Periyavacchan Pillai written in Tamil. They include commentaries on mula grantthas, base scriptures, many sthothras, eulogies, and the outpourings of devotion in the form of songs from alwars.
