2013 June 3: Hanuman Jayanthi was grandly celebrated by devotees in the divine presence of HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and His entourage at Novi, Michigan. Special sacred bath was given to Lord Hanuman, who was later adorned with bright new clothes and decorated with “urdhva pundram – the sacred mark on the forehead” by Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji.
Hanuman jayanthi is celebrated to commemorate the birth of “Vanara” God Hanuma, widely venerated throughout the world. Hanuman is an ardent devotee of Lord Sri Rama and is worshipped for his unflinching devotion towards his Lord Rama.
