Inner peace to World peace?

If people are at peace within, can it bring peace in the world? Is that practical…? Think about it before you delve in…

Global Spirituality Mohotsav organized at Kanha Meditation Center by the Ministry of Culture in association with Heartfulness of Ramachandra Mission brought together speakers from various streams and philosophies. This is a great initiative and a platform for people to discuss; reach at concrete and practical ideas.

When Rama was ruling, everyone was able to practice their own paths for inner peace because there were no terrorist or external forces that restricted or prohibited them from practicing. There was an understanding that the dharma of every being or every group must be respected. When they are out in the society, everyone’s dharma is about keeping the society healthy and intact for collective progress. However, in their own places of worship or practice, they are meant to have protected environment to practice. That is how Rama’s maintained the rajya, kingdom.

Terror attacks worldwide

When He was in the forests and other parts of the world, He understood there are some beings who are acting against their dharma. Hence, Sri Rama put them in order so that they lead their lives according to their dharma while letting the other species lead their lives to their respective dharma. In those days, those beings were animals, demons, rushis etc.

Today, there are different sects of people and different species of life. If one group uses terrorism to curb the practices of other groups, shouldn’t the government interfere and protect the rights of all the sects? If that does not happen and a sect of people are forcibly or unlawfully disturbing the others, how can one focus on attaining inner peace? If the environment to earn basic rights such as food, air, water, shelter, soul enrichment practices etc are under stake, where is inner peace?

Let’s check the sorrounding environment and people!

Is there a ‘Vali’ today?
Is there a ‘Ravana’ today?
This is for us to think by understanding what the qualities of Vali and Ravana are. What did they do that forced Rama to bring them down?

Such ones must be eliminated. However, we must learn from Rama that He did not convert or dominate the lands of Vali or Ravana. He enabled their groups to live as per their dharma such that it does not affect or destroy the cohesive culture of the creation. He put Sugreeva and Vibhishana in the ruling chair to let that happen. This is what an ideal human being 17.5 lakh years ago demonstrated. That is why He is worshiped till today.

Government must be clear about the goal, laws must be strict and administration must be perfect.

The goal is to allow everyone to practice their own faith and respect the rest.

Today’s government is clear of that goal and hence this Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is creating the platform to ensure what was happening in Rama rajya comes back into the culture today preserving the core atma of the land of Bharath.

So, does Inner peace come first or World peace comes first? Are they sequential or parallel efforts? Is it ‘Inner peace to world peace’? Or ‘World peace to inner peace’? Like the hen or the egg… what comes first?

Like all the fingers in a hand that have their own characteristics of length, texture, shape etc, yet when working on a task, they come together and play their part for the collective goal… The body ensures each finger can do its thing and enables all the fingers to work together… That’s the system that we need in place!

All the speakers had wonderful insight into inner peace. HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji’s exemplary talk stated that inner peace can only be achieved when there is an effort to curb the wrong-doers from the system. Swamiji also appreciated the current government that is making efforts to protect the law of the land, the core atma of Bharath. If the core atma of Bharath is disturbed, then there is no Bharath.
