Universal mother Padmavathi is the personification of prosperity, sampada. She also exists as Bhudevi, personification of patience, sahanam. She also reveals Herself in various other forms like Neeladevi, personification of beauty. Unless Lord Srimannarayana unites with Mother, His glory does not shine.
If something does not shine, we cannot comprehend it completely. Hence, the thirukkalya:nam, the divine wedding of Lord and Universal Mother is essential for us if we desire to see and experience Lord’s glory.
Are we the ones uniting Them through thirukkalya:nam, the divine wedding?
Lord and the universal Mother are always in union. It is for our understanding that we are given an opportunity to perform kalyanam to the divine couple and feel assured that we are in the protection of the power couple. We feel comfortable resorting to them if both of them are together.
Imagine approaching ‘Lord’ who does not ‘have’ patience? Imagine approaching ‘Lord’ who does not ‘have’ wealth? It’s hard. Hence, Mother makes Him approachable and giving.
Imagine approaching the ‘Mother’ who is not accompanying Lord for recommending you to Him? It’s hard. Hence, She is made the accessible recommender and approver. She is constantly in service of the Lord, partners with, and is qualified in every way to raise, build and flourish the world in many forms.
Let the patience, prosperity, and all virtuous graceful qualities unite with the commanding supreme power for a balanced joyful world..

Examine the quality of Mother in Her previous avatar as Sitha Devi. She prohibited Hanuman from punishing the 800 demonesses who were torturing her prior to Rama’s win over Ravana in the war. That is patience, tolerance, and how she excused them stating that they were executing their boss’s orders of punishing Her. Note that She had full authority and capability!
