On the day of Akshaya Tritiya, most Indians buy gold with a hope that it will increment their wealth
multi-fold. Rama also adored ‘gold’. His ‘gold’ is Sitha herself! Rama felt imperishably rich (అక్షయము =  క్షయము లేని) in the company of Sitha or in the thoughts that lead Him to Her.

Mama:pi tad bhu:thikaram [Rama says, “Sitha is the wealth that is right for me”]

Sitha is the ‘gold’ that Rama admired and adored throughout his life

Our scholars revealed the secrets embedded in Ramayana to help us understand the divine nature of Lakshmi and Narayana. Rama, the avatar of Narayana is personified dharma. Sitha, the avatar of Lakshmi Devi is personified compassion that brings up the fragrance of dharma to its maximum glory. That is why, the divine pair Rama and Sitha are to be worshipped as one, i.e. meditating / worshipping / practising ‘compassion filled dharmic (righteous) personality’ can yield true happiness to anyone. Depending on how grateful you are to this knowledge, you will surrender to that divine couple to such extent. Surrendering will enable you to submissively walk in their path and relish the eternal pearls of joy and success.

Ramanujacharya consecrated Vyuha Lakshmi in the heart of Lord Venkateswara Swami in Tirumala. Her presence with Balaji has been the cause of all wealth, the name and fame, the gold and the glory! That is why kalyanam (Sri Sitha Rama Kalyanam or Lakshmi Narayana Kalyanam or Padmavathi Venkateswara Kalyanam, Goda Ranganatha Kalyanam), an event that reminds us of the greatness of the divine union, is performed annually at every temple.

On the day of Akshaya Tritiya, devotees of Karimnagar Vedabhavan have chosen to celebrate Sri Sitha Rama Kalyanam following a three-day Sundara Kanda parayanam. Akshaya Tritya marks the beginning of thretha yuga, the appearance day of Parasurama, the appearance day of Varaha Naarasimha form of Lord at Simhachalam! The day has become even more special today with the celebration of Sri Sitha Rama Kalyanam for all Karimnagar devotees (and of course to all our readers).

Sri Rama Chandra parivar from five different temples appearing on one stage reminds us of two incidents from Ramayana where Rama appeared as more than one form at one instant.

Rama adored this ‘Gold’

First incident: Sri Rama spent less than 15 minutes in fighting with Khara, Dushana, Thrisara (the two brothers of Surpanaka and their commander-in-chief of army) and their army of 14,000 rakshasas. The immense focus, the rich valour, the adept charm, the fast grip, the mesmerizing stamina, the pointed accuracy, the enormous strength and stamina exhibited in this fight made every single one feel like Rama is fighting one-on-one with every soldier (rakshasa)! They saw 14,000 Ramas fighting in the battle ground!
[Our scholars revealed that one must fight vigorously to overcome the bad qualities within us to stand strong when practising dharma – this fight indicates such battle within us]

Rama adored this ‘Gold’

Second incident: When Ravana was in the battle field with Rama, Ravana adored the way Rama pulled an arrow, focused and shot the arrow. Ravana was trying to escape the arrow only to watch Rama take another one and shoot him. Such was the beauty of Rama’s personality, both in and out! The impact of Rama’s great character and skill put his opponents as well in a state that they enjoyed. The fastness in Rama’s act made him feel like there is multiple Ramas fighting with him.

      Sathro:ho prakhya:tha veerasya ranjaneeyasya vikramaihi…

[Our scholars revealed how fighting with the birthplace of desires, the manas requires immense dedication. We feel like we have killed it, but it takes shape again just like Ravana. The persistence, the support of wisdom and other positive elements can kill the ill-desires of the manas and make it a good companion for a stable state of mind]

If we can utilise our energy level to the highest extent, we can also have an impact on the society in multi-fold. Rama’s beautiful talented form appeared as multiple images to the opponents not because he physically existed in many bodies, but because of the intense energy, determination and skills he possessed. May we all also be devoted with Love to the divine mother, Sitha (Lakshmi amma) and attain the abilities to become the perfect tools of Ramachandra (Narayana).
