Water flows across the entire globe.  However, one needs an access point to experience and make proper use of it.  Electricity flows throughout a conducting wire, but only through an outlet can a light bulb glow.  Air exists throughout the environment, but it is only through a channel such as a fan can it reach us in a directed manner.  These access points, outlets, and channels are examples of means through which a powerful source of energy reveals itself to those who desire.

Similarly, God exists everywhere. Yet, He chooses a time, place, and form for true seekers to experience Him and His qualities through senses directly. Sri Rama, Sri Krishna, Sri Vamana, and Sri Narasimha are all such wonderful avatars of God. Many devotees thus experienced the absolute bliss of reunion with Him in this material plane.

The city of Ayodhya was one such divine place when God resided on Earth as Sri Ramachandra in tre:tha yuga.  His dharmic, righteous lifestyle remains an inspiration to everyone till today and will continue to do so.

“Sri Rama is personified dharma”. This sentiment is not only within Vedic scripture, those who adored Sri Rama for generations after, and with our Acharyas and Alwars. It was also engrained in the consciousness of those whom originally fought Rama but realized his greatness later. Mari:cha who once fought Rama expressed later that Rama is personified dharma.

He lead life on earth as an ideal human being and proved that even devathas will seek support of an ideal human being when in need. Generally, we think that devathas are more powerful than all other beings or should be respected above all else. Devathas are those theists who have a certain divine responsibility in the universe. In many instances, their devotion for God is secondary after their desire for power. An ideal human being who leads a dharmic lifestyle does not fear loss of power or anything else for that matter. A dharmic lifestyle involves a clear understanding of God, nature, and self (the essence of Visishta Adwaitha philosophy).

This empowers us to:

  • Follow defined norms and rules

  • Speak up and encourage others to follow the defined norms and rules

  • Empathize with the pain of those in difficult situation while helping them recover

  • Perform our duties perfectly as service to Lord

  • Foster an environment so that others also perform their duties

  • Offer the results of our actions to the almighty and live at peace

Living a proper human life is not limited to anyone within a specific country, religion, region, caste, creed, or gender. It is not limited to socio-economic, educational or societal levels. Sri Ramachandra displayed to us that one can live an ideal life regardless of background and birth. Let’s pray that His radiance of righteous living inspires each of us to shine from within.

All those (RSS, VHP, Ayodhya residents, lawyers, leaders, supporters etc) who worked towards the Rama Mandir at Ayodhya will remain in the hearts of all human beings eternally.

Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji performed Sri Rama Krathu (chanting the Sri Ramayana ithiha:sa and building a pillar with bricks inscribed with the name of Sri Rama along with discourses on his life) every 27 days at different places for a span of 9 full years. This divine activity was performed as an act of penance because someone in Chennai humiliated Ramayana, the historic epic that revealed the story of Sri Rama Chandra and Sitha Devi.

As we celebrate the 112th birth anniversary of Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji, the bhumi pujan for the new mandir in the same week at Ayodhya is a divine occurrence. May we all take inspiration from Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji and walk the path shown by Sri Ramachandra.
