Our culture has always taught everyone to respect all faiths and coexist peacefully. ‘Worship your own faith, respect all others’ is an important guiding principle that keeps everyone happily together despite differences in practices. I worship Rama and respect others, and you can do the vice-versa. One need not demean other faith for any reason whatsoever. One person’s faith must not stop him/her from being united with people of other faiths because…

… the world is one family

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam

Ancient day elders walked this path. Today, PM Sri Narendra Modi ji is also following the same path. We all belong to Bharath (India) and must work together, share pains and joys, move forward by putting the nation and its glory first. When each nation can also think and act accordingly, humanity on the Earth can flourish in peace.

What is the role of faith or God in standing together as One?

In a country with varied backgrounds and faiths, we all need a common ground to stay united and follow certain rules to move ahead on all fronts.

There are two ways a rule can be implemented. The first path defines a certain process to follow and implements punishments for violation. The second path sanctifies the hearts of everyone so that people do not need enforcement from external sources. The first path involves a certain force and the second path is a voluntary promise to follow the process.

In the second path, the teachings of God sanctify a person from within and drives his/her behavior to follow basic principles like non-violence, truth, share, and care for each other. The common ground for everyone here is that each of us is a child of the supreme power, God, and Mother Earth!
