29th May 2020: Telangana CM Sriman KCR received Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji with great honour at Markook pumphouse, Kondapochamma reservoir. On May 27th, 2020, CM visited Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji’s ashram to invite Swamiji for the inauguration of Godavari water into the Kondapochamma reservoir. Swamiji graced the premises at the Markook pumphouse and concluded the Sudarsana Yagam, a prayer for the well-being of everyone.

Prior to attending the Sudarsna Yagam, Swamiji took an aerial view of the project (about 750 acres of land) to get a feel for the scope of the project. Later, KCR along with Swamiji switched on the pumps releasing the lifted water into the reservoir. Swamiji was later invited to give jala harathi, a prayer to the waters, at the reservoir.

Vedas refer to everything that exists around as the divine manifestation of Lord. Therefore, prayers are an integral part of any activity in our culture, be it naming a new born baby or inaugurating a project such as this. Swamiji blessed the occasion with well-wishes for the project’s success.

Approximately 15 TMC water is expected to be filled in the reservoir which can then help irrigate 3 lakh acres of land in Siddhipet and other districts. This reservoir is part of the Kaleshwaram project, aimed at supporting irrigation of 50 to 70 lakh acres of land. It is the world’s largest multi-stage lift irrigation project.
