There are three digits in the number one hundred, one 1 and two 0s. The digit 1 is by itself valuable whether it is with the 0 or not. However, the 0s in the number do not have a value when they are not connected with 1.

In the universe, there are three realities that exist eternally. However, just like digit 1 in the number 100, there is one reality without which the other two lose their value and purpose.

Sa:mave:da states that God takes a sankalpa, divine resolve…

…ane:na ji:ve:na a:thmana: anu pravisya na:ma ru:pe: vya:karava:ni…

…to enable the functioning of souls giving each of them a name and a body..

The bodies are of four types…

  • supporting entity bodies, de:va, ex: air, water etc
  • human bodies, manushya ex: all of us
  • horizontally moving bodies, thiryak ex: bird or a fly
  • stationary bodies, stha:vara ex: trees and inert objects like stones

Bhagavad Gi:tha, Chapter 4, verse 13

God assigns suitable bodies for souls. He does so out of compassion so that they have a chance to become eligible for getting released from karma. They can choose not to follow the recommendations from the Vedas in which case they end up stocking more karma and enter a vicious cycle.

If the souls do not get a body, they do not have a chance to even try. Therefore the two realities, the innumerable souls and the Nature are the two 0s that experience a purposeful existence only when empowered by 1, the supreme reality, God.

Shwetha:shwathara upanishad says…

kshara:thma:na: vi:sathe: de:va e:kaha

It is the i:sa, the supreme controller who administers the other two eternally existing entities called kshara or prakruthi, Nature and akshara, souls

Scriptures declare that the supreme controller has put the Nature and the Souls together for a common purpose of elevating everyone from the current flawed state to the original joyful state. To do so, we need proper coexistence and we must learn the right way to live.

deva:n bha:vayatha:ne:na

sre:yah param ava:psyattha ||

In Bhagavad Gi:tha, Sri Krushna says parasparam, cooperation between human beings and de:vathas is essential for an optimal state of existence.

Ignorant of the great wisdom from our scriptures, we are risking our true existence like the 0s that lose their value when they walk away from 1… This beautiful anatomy of 100 must instil in us the knowledge of the Supreme and support us in peaceful coexistence with other fellow beings of all species and the Nature.

Upanishads, Bhagavad Githa and other scriptures are like mirrors that can show our face to us if we are willing to see; it is through them and the teachings of the Wise that we learn to know about who we truly are and the purpose of our existence.

Despite all these teachings…

  • Why are we giving into our greeds and adding chemicals and pollutants into Nature?
  • Why are we destroying the natural habitats of other beings?
  • Why are we releasing poisonous gasses such as CFCs?
  • Why are we moving away from natural ways of living and seeking “simpler” but harmful methods?

HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji enlightened the audience at various sessions organized across Australia and New Zealand. The audience were left spellbound with the teachings from time-tested Vedic knowledge.
