An 82-year-old, highly esteemed scholar was in Sri Rangam along with our Peddha Jeeyar Swamiji. This scholar was a pioneer, an inspirer, and a pathfinder for countless people in all walks of life. The scholar stepped out with books in hand during the hot, summer afternoon in South India. He had several health issues, such as asthma and headaches, making the afternoon trek even more arduous.
This scholar was none other than Sri Gopalacharya Swami, highly honored as Abhinava Githa:cha:rya, Kulapathulu, Nya:ya Ve:dantha Vidva:msa. He and HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji (6 years apart) worked together toward a single goal, the empowerment of everyone in society, at all levels, with righteous knowledge using spiritual wisdom as the basis.
When Peddha Jeeyar Swamiji found out Gopalacharya Swamiji went out that afternoon, he asked where he went without taking a rest.
Where did Gopalacharya Swamiji go?
He stepped out to visit another scholar in his mid-90’s. The books he carried were kro:da patra, the final topics of tarka sa:stram, the science of logic. The scholar he visited was Madhuranthakam Veera Raghavacharya Ji, the most erudite scholar of logical sciences.
What was Jeeyar Swamiji’s reaction?
Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji asked Gopalacharya Swami whether it was necessary to clarify questions at such an hour. He wondered, “what you know to date is not enough?”
What was Gopalacharya Swamiji’s response?
“If a person learns something to satiate himself alone, then it is sufficient to stop at any extent he wants. However, when one wants to share those details, he must reach the core of those teachings. Sincere seekers may have the same question that I have. If we want to spread the greatness of Vedic wisdom, let us not leave any scope for gaps in our understanding”.
The way of the wise is always inspiring. If you are a practitioner and beneficiary of Vedic wisdom, learn it to a level that you can answer any question. It is time to seed such knowledge in all of us so it sprouts and grows to support the thirst of true seekers.
Self Examine
Imagine you are currently experiencing a hard time in your life and someone from a different faith approaches you and says, “My faith, My God can help you. I will lend you money and support you in any way you need along with the help of my friends. Come join us. Leave your faith.”
Do you have an appropriate response that is pra:ma:nikam, authentically based on Vedas?
If you do, that’s great [comment on this post]. If you do not, take time and try to learn from a righteous acharya who can give insights into the truths of the greatest ancient time-tested and proven wisdom, the Vedic wisdom.

Jai Srimannarayana! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
When people refer me as a disciple of Sri Sri Sri Swamiji, I experience a joy beyond measure. Surrendering to HH lotus feet itself is the indicative of connecting to God. As regards to the point under discussion, I sympathize with those who try to force their ideas setting aside Pra:ma:nas in debates to market their newly found God. . They come time and again for debates with utter disregard to Pra:ma:nam and without any valid points. Recently one actress in her speech commenting about the new religion that she entered in for best reasons known to her, surprised the… Read more »
Good reply from Gopalacharya Swamiji. Adiyen had several unsolved questions but Chinna Jeeyar Swami answered most of my questions. He has all the answers. I still have more questions and waiting for His mercy
jai srimannarayana! adiye:n does not have prama:na:s based on ve:das. That said, he can think of some prama:na:s from BG. If God is one, then, there is no question of my God vs. your God. There is only one everyone’s God. In BG, sri: krushna does say that he is the one and only God. So, as long as we are following sri: krushna’s saying in BG, should we no be OK? In this particular case in point, I may want to inquire how is the other faith different. If it is a different language, that is OK. It will… Read more »
@vishwa ji – Exactly! There are declaring statements in Vedas/Upanishad that Swamiji says during discourses (such as: Mundakopanishad – sade:va so:mya idamagra asi:th, e:kame:va, advithi:yam) and some texts that are sung in front of God revealing the Lord’s nature. For example: Purusha su:ktham (…e:ko: narayanaha..) talks about the nature of Lord. However, Swamiji mentioned several times that Bhagavad Githa is considered panchamo: veda, and equivalent of Upanishad. So, whatever you mentioned makes sense absolutely. Also, Swamiji always mentions about how we must all also understand the true nature of ‘difficulties’ in life. The fact that one lends money or does… Read more »
