If you are in proximity with your dear one, time passes by so quickly otherwise, every moment feels like ages. Those 30 hours also therefore felt extremely long.

HH Sri ChinnaJeeyar Swamiji was away from his dearest one, Sri Kodanda Ramachandra (the worshipping deity) for 30 long hours.

When were they apart from each other?

It was the year 1993, the night of Deepavali. The festive celebrations are nearing end in Sithanagaram, Vijayawada. A few thieves believed they can steal the deities and make money. These deities of Sri Kodanda Ramachandra Swami parivar are the wealth given by HH Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji to HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami.

If the deities were God Himself, why did God allow this separation?

The outcome of any undesired situation to a pious personality results in the sharing of God’s glory multi-fold with the world. Looking at two such instances from the past…

In Thre:tha Yuga, Sri Ramachandra had to leave to the forests the day He was supposed to be coronated as the king of Ayodhya. The entire episode beginning the day He left to forests till He returned is now revered as the ultimate guide to humanity, Sri Ramayana. Hundreds of scholars over thousands of years have been discoursing on the way Sri Rama dealt with situations in life, how He made the best use of any moment no matter where He was. He is therefore the worshipping deity for de:vathas too.

Recently in Kali Yuga someone ‘popular’ disrespected Ramayana in Chennai. Disappointed HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji offered kshama (seeking forgiving) prayers on behalf of the person by performing 108 Sri Rama Krathus all over India, including Badrinath and Nepal.

Swamiji gave upade:sa to everyone for years together about how Sri Ramachandra is an avatha:r of Lord showing the world a real human being. He is most revered as marya:da purusho:tthama, one who knows the limits to everything. If we disrespect Sri Rama in any form to any extent, the result will only be the chaotic downfall of entire humanity.

What was the result of the undesired event in 1993 with Swamiji’s deity?

Every year since 1993 (for the last 28 years), Swamiji has been offering e:ko:tthara sahasrakalasa abhisheka, 1001 pots of divine shower to the Lord as a way to thank Him for returning. Every year, the event reinforces that archa mu:rthi, deity responds to a devoteee’s requests. If the request is not fulfilled, a true devotee would accept it as God’s will.

Did God respond to Swamij’s request to return in the year 1993?

When Sri Ramachandra parivar went missing, it was heart-breaking. The initial observations indicated that it was the job of certain thieves who entered the Sithanagarm a:shramam with the intent to make money by stealing something valuable.

The esteemed scholars like T.K. Gopalachari Swami and Sriman T Ramchandra Swami immediately advised having some prasa:da (sanctified food) it was already a day since anyone had anything to eat is a busy day with the festival.

[Swamiji said,] “Ask them to come back. Until then, we do not feel like it at all.”

Several press reporters asked, ‘There are several such incidents, sometimes the police locates the missing mur:this while in other cases they won’t be able to. How long will you wait?’

[Swamiji said,] “Will wait for 3 days. If they return, will resume a:ra:dhana, worshipping Him. Otherwise, we will go to Him.”

The sub inspector Sriman Koteswara Rao ji asked, ‘Can you give me the price of the lost mur:this?’

[Swamiji said,] ‘Priceless…’

In the 30th hour from the time of separation, Sri Kodanda Sri Ramachandra reunited with HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. The SI prayed to make himself a tool in the divine reunion, was able to locate the deities and bring them back to the a:shramam with all the royal honors!
