Jai Sri:manna:ra:yana! Happy 60th Thirunakshathram Sva:miji. I had the privilege of meeting HH in Cary,NC during the venkate:shvara Sva:mi Prathishta in 2009. Because of Sva:miji's grace I was able to participate in the Houston Tirumala contest and receive sama:srayanam this year. Thank You Sva:miji for teaching the youth in America about our Samprada:yam and being a role model for all of us. Jai Sri:manna:ra:yana!

Today I read Swamiji biography in his own words in Eenadu Telugu News Sunday Weekly Edition. In 1990-91 once I happened to sit and listen near to Swamiji in Tallada Village Aryavisya temple on his way from Bhadrachalam District Khammam , in earlier A.P state. Then, my heartfelt a difference in life concerns for the few minutes spent with Swamiji. Today I am still feeling the influence of Swamiji. Now I am age 56 yrs in Sriharikota Rocket Launch Centre as Public Health Officer. Jai Srimanarayana

My name is Yathiraja Valli. I am in Class 5. Chinna Jeeyar Swami is the best person I have ever met. By the way, whenever I go closer to Swami to talk to him – Smiles are all over my face without even my knowledge. I also feel like he is Krishna (naughty inside) and he is Rama (disciplined). He has such a good heart. I dressed up as Goda in one of the events of his 60th Birthday and I felt so happy seeing him on stage so closely. I felt like he is Ranganathudu and I am Goda. I knew him since I was born. He is the one who gave me such an amazing name. One day he came to our house because my parents invited him. We were all so happy. The next day when I met him in temple – I asked ‘Swami, were you happy yesterday in my home?’. He asked me back – ‘Are you happy?’ I said ‘I was very happy you came’. He said, ‘Then, we are also happy’. It is always a great experience to talk to him and be around him. My mother tells me another incident when I was very small (less than 2 years old). I was around Swami for the first half of the day and later on Swami got into the car to go to a program in the city. My mother was carrying me and when the car was about to start, it seems I realised we are not going with him and I said in telugu – ‘Nenu osthaa…’ to him (meaning, I also want to go with Swami) Happy Birthday Swami…, You should get everything that you wish for..

స్వామి వారికీ పుట్టిన రోజు శుభాకాంక్షలు

Lord Venkateshwara in Tirumala is considered as the pratyaksha daivam in this kali yuga. Around 40 million devotees visit Tirumala every year, and receive Sri Venkateshwara Swami's darshanam! Tirumala temple is the most visited and richest temple in the world!! However, not many even know that, about 1000 years back, people had major doubts if the deity is the Lord or some other devatha. At that time, there was a great Acharya by name, Bhagavad Ramanuja, who studied all the scriptures and proved that it is none other than Lord Himself. In this process, Bhagavad Ramanuja blessed Lord Venkateshwara with Sanku and Chakra, and Lord accepted Ramanujacharya as his guru. When Ramanujacharya was finally leaving Tirumala, on Lord's request, Ramanuja's archa moorthy was placed at the height of Lord's chest, indicating that Lord keeps His guru always near, in his heart. Even today, whenever Lord goes out on Thiru veedhi seva, He stops in front of Bhagavad Ramanuja sannidhi, takes his blessings and then proceeds forward. You must be wondering why I am explaining about Lord Venkateshwara and Bhagavad Ramanuja on the occasion of Sri Swamiji's Thirunakshatram. There is a direct relation and you will know. I happened to visit Tirumala couple of months back. When we went to the temple, there was heavy rush. We had to wait in the queue and walked for more than three hours, with everyone pushing everyone around. After the adventure in the queue, we were fortunate to get Lord Venkateshwara's darshanam for about 3 seconds. After the darshanam, we went around in the temple complex, and visited Bhagavad Ramanuja sannidhi. There was almost no one there. I was comparing how much rush was in Sri Venkateshwara's sannidhi, and how empty it is in Sri Ramanuja sannidhi. I sat there peacefully, thinking about the glory of Sri Ramanuja. After a few minutes, temple attendants suddenly came and cleared everyone on the walking path in front of Sri Ramanuja sannidhi, but I was still on the pedestal. Then, Lord Venkateshwara in uthsava moorthy came there in pallaki and stopped in front of Sri Ramanuja's sannidhi. Temple priests gave harathi there for few minutes, and we are blessed with Lord's darshanam right in front of us. How wonderful it is! When we made believed in our own efforts to go all the way to see the Lord, we went through so much hardship, and got the darshanam only for few seconds. But, when we are near Lord's Acharya, then Lord came right to us, waited there, and blessed us for few minutes! I read in books and had some knowledge about Sri Ramanuja, but on that day, Lord actually showed to me how much He respects His guru, how He is going to bless all those who got Sri Ramanuja's name (Ramanujadasa). The above incident shows us clearly the relationship between Lord and Sri Ramanuja, and how Lord will bless Ramanujadasas. I guess you are still wondering how this is connected to Sri Swamiji's Thirunakshatram. As I mentioned above, there was heavy rush and commotion in Lord Venkateshwara sannidhi, but there was almost no one near Bhagavad Ramanujacharya sannidhi. I asked many of my friends and relatives who consider themselves religious and who visited Tirumala at least a few times, and they do not even know Sri Ramanuja's sannidhi is in the temple complex, and they do not know that Ramanujacharya is Lord's guru. The devotees of Lord always wish to go to Tirumala and see the Lord, but the Lord must be longing all the time to take the darshanam of His guru, Ramanujacharya. Just imagine how Lord must be feeling - "all these millions of devotees come to see Me, but they just walk past my beloved guru, as if He does not even exist! They don't know about the great Acharya. They don't know when the Acharya is born, and they obviously can't celebrate any of his birthdays!” Bhagavad Ramanujacharya's thousandth birthday (sahasrabdi) is in 2017, and it is a major milestone for entire humanity. The Lord wants to celebrate His guru's millennium birthday in a grand way along with all His devotees. The Lord knows, it is because of this guru, He is being recognized and revered by millions of devotees. However, the devotees of today do not know or remember this Acharya. Lord knows that only He is capable of coming down to earth again, and spread the glory of Bhagavad Ramanuja all over the world. We are all children of the Lord. After all, which father does not want his kids to have the best knowledge, and the path that is showed to us by the great Acharya, Sri Bhagavad Ramanuja? With this mission in mind, exactly sixty years back, the Lord came down for us as, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. He knows, that the mission of setting us in the right path is difficult and takes a very long time. So, at a very young age, He accepted Sanyasasramam. Our Acharyas say that the Lord first lived like a perfect man, Sri Rama. With that experience, as Lord Sri Krishna, He gave us the essence of Vedas/Upanishads as Sri Bhagavad Gita. In those days, 700 slokas of Bhagavad Gita was probably a short song. But, now a days, we live for, say 100 years, but we don’t have time to learn even 10 slokas. Sri Swamiji, with his unconditional love towards us, has given the essence of the Gita in just one Sloka, to start our journey in the right direction - "Serve all beings as service to God, and Worship your own respect all". For the last 36 years, Sri Swamiji is on his mission working tirelessly. Some people openly or internally have a doubt "why is Swamiji trying to do so many things?” In Bhagavad Gita, Sri Krishna said, "there is nothing in this world that I have not achieved, but I still do my duties". As a perfect Karma yogi, Sri Swamiji performs all the duties - as an Acharya, as a Vedic scholar/philosopher, as the Leader of an organization, as a social reformer, as a compassionate human being, embodying the principles of Vishista Advaita. Our Acharyas say that Bhagavad Gita is like a manual, and Ramayana is like a practical guide to teach us how to live like a perfect human. Unfortunately, we neither try to understand Bhagavad Gita, nor we have the knowledge/time to correlate it with Ramayana. Even if we try to do it, we may end up with more questions, if we apply the examples from Ramayana to today's world. However, if we are fortunate enough to observe Sri Swamiji, we would know that Sri Swamiji 'living' all the principles given in the Gita, as a perfect Human, like Sri Rama, while living on this earth today. One just need to open their eyes and mind, and be fortunate enough to be blessed in order to realize it. Let us say, an Acharya taught his disciple and introduced him to entire world. People start visiting and paying respect to that disciple, for his greatness. A true disciple knows that his Acharya is responsible for his greatness, and His Acharya must be the true recipient of that fame and respect. So, if 10 people visit the disciple, then the disciple would want 100 people to visit his Acharya. Say, the disciple gets about 40 million visitors a year, and $400 million dollars (Rs.2600 crores). And, this is going on for 1000 years. Now, the disciple wants to celebrate the glory of his Acharya on his 1000th birthday. Imagine how much the disciple would want his Acharya to be respected by every one for this special birthday! The disciple here is Lord Venkateshwara, and the Acharya is Bhagavad Ramanuja. If Lord Venkateshwara were to build a monument for his Acharya - imagine how big He would want it to be! How much He would wish that His Acharya's glory be spreading on this earth for next 1000 years!! When we go to Tirumala, we see a God there, and we ask for our desires to be fulfilled by the Lord, and we offer our respects in return. At that time, we do not see the Lord as just a statue. But, when we hear something like, Bhagavad Ramanuja is the guru of Lord Venkateshwara, and it is time for Lord Venkateshwara to pay his respects to His guru for the Sahasrabdi, then people will start asking, is it really needed, can we believe it, why do we have to spend so much money etc. Sri Swamiji ALWAYS sees Venkateshwara as the Lord, and wants to celebrate Bhagavad Ramanuja's 1000th year birthday, as if Lord Venkateshwara would want to celebrate it. Remember, Lord Venkateshwara is the Supreme Lord, and everything on this earth belongs to him - not just the $400 million He is offered every year in Tirumala. Given this, shouldn't Bhagavad Ramanuja's Statue of Equality be at least 216 feet with the total project costing $150 million (Rs. 1000 crore)! I know that trying to put the greatness of Sri Swamiji in a few words is like taking a few drops out of an ocean and trying to explain how big the ocean is. When we show those few drops, some people will look at only those few drops and think that's all, but, remember that it does not change the size of the ocean. My interaction with Sri Swamiji is very very limited, but that itself is sufficient to leave me in awe of His greatness and compassion. No matter what I did in my previous lives, I probably did not deserve to be the disciple of the great Acharya. No wonder God is so compassionate, and He allowed me to live on this earth along with Sri Swamiji, and He gave me the wisdom to get Samasrayanam from Sri Swamiji. Like Arjuna who could not find the beginning or end of Lord Sri Krishna in His complete form, no matter how hard I see, I would not be able to find the boundaries of Sri Swamiji's love! మన ఆచార్యుణ్ణి అనేక దాసోహములు ...... భగవంతుడు సర్వేశ్వరుడు, దయా స్వరూపుడు. మనకు కావల్సినవి ఏవో ఇవ్వగలిగేవాడు, ఇవ్వాలని అనుకునేవాడూ ఆయనే. ఇక అన్నీ ఆయనే అయినప్పుడు ఇక మనకు ఆచార్యుడు ఎందుకు, నేరుగా భగవంతుణ్ణే ఆశ్రయిస్తే సరిపోదా అనే సందేహం మనలో కలిగే అవకాశం ఉంది. మన కళ్ళతో ప్రపంచాన్ని చూడగలం కానీ మన ముఖాన్నే మనం చూసుకోలేం. అట్లానే ఆత్మ-పరమాత్మ ఇద్దరూ మనలోనే ఉంటారు, వాళ్ళని చూడాలంటే ఒక అద్దం ఏదో ఒకటి కావాలి, అట్లా మన స్వరూపాన్ని, మనలో అంతర్యామి అయిన భగవంతుణ్ణి చూపే అద్దమే ఆచార్యుడు అంటే. ఆచార్యుణ్ణి తత్త్వ ద్రష్ట అని అంటారు. అంటే వాస్తవమైన తత్త్వాన్ని చూచినవారు అని అర్థం. తత్త్వం అనేది తనను తాను చెప్పలేదు. బెల్లం తన తియ్యదనాన్ని చెప్పగలదా ? 'తియ్యగా ఉంది' అని దాన్ని రుచి చూసినవాడు చెప్పగలడు. అట్లానే భగవంతుడు నేరుగా తనను తాను చెబితే మనకి ఒంట బట్టదు. మనకు పెద్దగా అర్థం కాదు. అర్జునుడికి అంత భగవద్గీతను భోదిస్తే పెద్దగా ఏం అర్థం అవలేదు. అందుకే భగవంతుని కళ్యాణగుణాలను అనుభవించిన భీష్ముని ద్వారా శ్రీవిష్ణుసహస్రనామాలను చెప్పించాడు. భగవంతుడు సముద్రం లాంటి వాడు అయితే ఆచార్యుడు మేఘంలాంటి వాడు. సముద్రపు నీరు నేరుగా పాన యోగ్యం కాదు. అదే నీరు ఒక మేఘం ద్వారా లభిస్తే అది పాన యోగ్యం. అందుకే ఆచార్యుడి ద్వారా మనం భగవంతుణ్ణి గుర్తించడం సులభం. మనం ఆచార్యుణ్ణి ఆశ్రయించినప్పుడు మన శరీరాన్ని, మనస్సుని వంచాలి. ఆచార్యుని సమయాన్ని బట్టి మన సందేహాలని ఓపికగా ఒక్కోటి తీర్చుకోవాలి. అప్పుడే అన్నీ సందేహాలు తీరాలి అనే అవసరం లేదు, మనం అర్థం చేసుకొనే స్థాయిని చూసి చెబుతాడు ఆచార్యుడు. ఒక్కోసారి మనల్ని పరిశీలించిగానీ చెప్పడు. మన వినయాన్ని ప్రదర్శించాలి, ఆచార్య సేవలో గడపాలి. ఇవన్నీ మనల్ని మనం బాగు చేసుకొనే పద్దతులు. ఆచార్యుని సేవను మించిన కైంకర్యం ఉండదు అనేది మనం గుర్తించాల్సిన విషయం. జై శ్రీమన్నారాయణ!స్వామి వారికి హృదయపూర్వక తిరు నక్షత్ర శుభాకాంక్షలు….. టి రంగ మన్నార్, ధర్మవరం , అనంతపురం జిల్లా
