Jai Srimannarayana…!

Today after completing Theertha go:shti in the ya:gasa:la, HH Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji conducted the Go:puja. HH gave permission to commence the ho:mam procedure in the ya:gasa:las. In the yajna ya:gasa:la moola manthra ho:mam continued under the leadership of Sri Madhusudanacharya. Today in the Ishti sala Sri: Lakshmi Narayane:shti is performed under the guidance of Sri Srinivasacharya

Atharva Veda says “Satha hastha sama:ha:ra sahasra hastha samkira” meaning, earn as if you have hundred hands but donate as if you have thousand hands, while, Yajur Veda ordains one to donate benevolently. One, who doesn’t follow this recommendation, becomes poverty stricken that forces one to commit sins that in turn affects him to become a victim of poverty further more. Thus, it forms a chain reaction of events.

Therefore, answering to Lord Brahma’s question, Narayana recommends Sri Lakshmi Narayana Isthi to annihilate this cyclic reaction of sinful, poverty stricken life and award a purposeful, prosperous trouble free life here and an eternal blissful association of Lord there.

In the pu:ja program HH Swamiji taught the participants how to do pu:ja involving one’s mind and soul. Our Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji showed us a common mode of worship some 75yrs back itself for the well being of the society. We are following his directions. He personally distributed the Sri Rama dollars to the large number of participants. Ahobila Jeeyar Swamiji spoke on the importance of having Sri Rama pu:ja on Sunday. Sri Vrathadhara Jeeyar Swamiji spoke in Hindi about the need of Acharya anugraham. Once acharya anugraham is there then ‘Paramathma anugraham’ would definitely follow it. Later HH enunciated on the need of praying to Lord Rama. Today is Sunday and its ruling god is the sun. Rama was born in the ‘surya vamsa’. So it’s very appropriate to pray to Sri Rama this day. He came down as a human being to show us how to lead our lives as true human beings. Rama led his life like a perfect human being. When one is so, even the celestials bow down before him. We need not go after them. To whom ever we pray or meditate upon, we are sure to imbibe those qualities. We know how a parrot of a hunter undoubtedly talks in his tone. A gentle man’s parrot talks like him in gentle words. That makes the difference. If we worship Lord Rama who is extolled as ‘ramo: vigrahava:n dharmaha’ we are sure of getting better in our way of life. We are sure to get the mental strength and will power not to get easily drifted away from the right path. HH is installing Kodanda Rama Swamy as the main deity in our temple in Sriramnagar. We all did Ashtotthara satha nama pu:ja under the guidance of HH Sri Swamiji meditating on his ‘kalya:n’a gun’a:s’.

Today evening, HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji exhorted on a few attributes of HH Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji. HH Swamiji narrated how a true Acharya transforms the most egoistic hearts into the most pure ones without hating the person as such. Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami believed in “Hate the Sin, not the Sinner’. Not only did HH Swamiji believed in such ideology, but in fact practiced it before preaching to others. To exemplify one of such incidents of Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji, HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji quoted the example of ‘Prativa:di Bhayankara Annangara:charya’ from Ka:nchipuram. Annangara:charya Swami in his early forties was not allowed to take part in a Vedic conference as he lacked proper schooling in Veda. He took this to his heart and took an oath that he would master the Veda and take part in the Vedic conference within four years. But, he was already in his early 40’s and typically the intonation for Vedic hymns is way too difficult to master for anyone who is beyond the age of 16 years. Although this being the case, Annagara:charya Swami took it as a challenge and mastered the Vedic mass in just two and half years as opposed to four years. This, bewildered the local scholars who lost to him later in a debate, thus accepting him as a very superior scholar and genius. .

In 1970’s Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji wishing to perform Rama:yana Pa:rayana in Chennai, arrived there, but only to realize that the local scholars wouldn’t support Him. In 70s non-speaking Tamil people were looked down upon and were not allowed to perform any rituals by the local authorities. HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji unperturbed by their unsupportive attitude, continued with his Ra:mayana Parayanam on the pavements of streets with very little resources. Although, the local people initially didn’t turn up, they eventually started flooding the event conducted by HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji. The local authorities were not happy and indeed quite envious of the response HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji received.

Later sometime down the road, Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji in 1973 organized an All India Vedic Conference in New Delhi for the first time ever in Independent India. The then, prime minister, Indira Gandhi planning to attend the same for few minutes, stopped by the conference, but being mesmerized by the enchanting words of HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji, stayed back for hours together. HH Pedda Jeeyar Swami then extended an offer to Annangaracharya Swami to lead this conference realizing Annangara:charya Swami’s scholarly abilities.

The North Indian Vedic Scholars didn’t approve Annangaracha:rya Swami’s leadership and thus challenged Annangaracha:rya Swami, but couldn’t face him and thus lost to him in debate.

Later, due to the saintly qualities of HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji, Annangaracha:rya Swami started addressing himself as sub-servant of HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji and referred HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji as “Satya Sankalpa” on his personal letter head (meaning, a person whose intensions and resolutions are bound to manifest true).

Thus continued Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji’s narration of HH’s extraordinary attributes. All the devotees present in the auditorium listened to him with rapt attention. Today many more people visited the exhibition of HH’s achievements which show a minute picture of his magnificent reformations and activities. Hundreds answered the photo quiz on ‘A thousand smiles of Pedda Swamiji’ in the exhibition and won prizes.

Our Vedic school kids gave an inspiring burrakatha on Pedda Swamiji and later a professional Bharathana:tyam recital entertained all the spectators. HH Swamiji gave them mangala:sa:sanams.
After the pu:rn’a:huthi and Sa:tthumurai, prasa:dam is distributed. All started back home thinking about Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji’s endless accomplishments to change the society.

Jai to our Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji who is making the lamp lighted by Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji glow more brilliantly and more powerfully catering to the people of off shore too.
