Krushna river pushkarams commence when Jupiter enters Kanya rasi. This happens once in 12 years. This year, Krushna pushkaras started on 12th August and ended on 23rd.

Krushna Pushkaram was welcomed grandly on Aug 12th at 6 am by HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji.  Lord Sudarsana was taken in a procession from Sitanagaram asramam amidst Vedic chants, bhajans and devotees dancing with devotion. Hundreds of devotees waving the flags of Ramanujacharya led the procession chanting “Jai Srimannarayana”.

All the devotees reached Ramanuja Pushkar ghat along with HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and HH Ahobila Jeeyar Swamiji to take a holy dip in the river.  After HH performed puja to the river, everyone repeated slokas and manthras as said by Swamiji and offered arghyam to Sun God, ancestors and concluded the morning program.

12th Aug was first Friday in Sravana month. Abhishekam was performed to Mother Sitha and Goda devi. After thirttha and prasada goshti HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji and HH Ahobila Jeeyar Swamiji left for NRI campus to start Bramha Yajna.

The program at NRI Medical College started in the evening with pravachan on Lakshmi devi’s greatness by HH Swamiji. Samuhika – mass puja to Lakshmi devi was performed by all the devotees concluding that day’s program.

The next day, ie. on 13th,  Ankurarpana was conducted to initiate preparations for Bramha Yajna. In the evening, HH gave an enlightening speech on “Yajna” – what, how, who etc details were vividly described by HH in the later discourses.

On 14th, after Arani Matthanam, invoking Fire God to lit fire in all the yajna kundas, Samuhika Sri Krushna puja was performed concluding the morning program. In the evening, after Sri Vishnu Sahasranam parayan at 5.30 pm, HH described the process followed in Bramha Yajna.

On 15th August, celebrating Independence day, HH hoisted the National flag followed by a wonderful message. The morning program ended with Sri Rama Ashtotthara puja.  In the evening, HH elucidated on what “Yajna” means and different types of Yajna as told by Lord Krushna in Bhagavad Githa.

Sri Narasimha puja was performed on 16th Aug where HH explained the glory of Lord’s  incarnation and the compassion of Lord towards the devotees. In the evening, HH mentioned the benefits of doing Yajna and how everyone can participate in Yajna.

17th was Hayagriva Jayanthi and Varaha Jayanthi. Many students came to participate in the puja, HH explained the promise made by Varaha Swamy to all jivas.  HH gave upadesam of Hayagriva Malamanthra to all after Hayagriva puja.  The day concluded with vahana seva after HH discourse on “Yajna”.

18th was Sravana Purnima. Lord was taken to the banks of River Krushna. Lamps were lighted by all devotees and mangalasasanams were offered to the Lord. Various types of harathis were offered by HH Swamiji and then Lord was taken on a procession on Garuda Vahana with “vayyari nadakalu”  providing a feast for the eyes of the devotees.

19th Aug – a day to be marked in the annals of history – HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji conducted Samatha Snanam where people of all sects came together, took holy dip and offered their prayers to God, Mother River, ancestors, gurus collectively taking forward Bhagavad Ramanuja’s vision of EQUALITY.

After the conference in the afternoon on EQUALITY attended by thousands of people, Lord was taken on a procession to the ghats of Krushna river. After mangalasasanam to the Lord by HH Swamiji, all the devotees lit lamps and gave harathi to the lord. The evening program concluded with “vayyari nadakalu” followed by prasada goshti.

21st was Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji’s 108th birth anniversary. After morning prayers and Vedic chants, ashtotthara puja was performed to Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji. Then HH and all the devotees went to Nadigaddapalem and participated in the thirumanjanam of Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji. After chanting the holy names of Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji, Swamiji gave mementoes to all devotees doing services to the Lord.  That day, program concluded with vahana seva with lord seated under the Kalpa tree and HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji seated in a palanquin decorated with flowers.

Purnahuthi was conducted on 22nd concluding the 9 days Bramha Yajna. After prokshana, HH left for Sitanagaram Asramam.

Stalls were setup on all days. NRI provided BP and checkups free of cost to all devotees. Ayur products, Ramanuja Vani, Accupressure stalls were set up providing services to the devotees who attended the program. Cultural programs were held during the afternoons.

NRI Hospital became a spiritual haven those 10 days with the divine atmosphere. HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji gave mangalasasanams to Dr. Mukkamala Apparao ji and his wife for making wonderful arrangements for Lord, Acharya and devotees. All the devotees felt highly elated participating in the divine Bramha Yajna and taking home the lesson learnt on how to convert every action as Yajna.
