Ramanuja Sahasrabdi celebrations concluded on a grand note in Divya Saketham. Thousands of devotees thronged the temple in the morning to be part of the celebrations. HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji sang melodious Ramanuja manthra and all the devotees joined Him in the bhajan. The hearts of all were filled with love, devotion, joy towards our great acharya Sri Ramanujacharya.
HH told a small snippet about how a lady belonging to cowherd caste, a backward class, got moksha – eternal joy with His permission. HH concluded saying that the Supreme Lord in Srirangam gave the responsibility of both worlds – materialistic world and eternal world to Bhagavad Ramanujacharya and we have to surrender to Him to get paramapadam. Now that we have surrendered, we need not even think about our evolvement as it is our Acharya’s responsibility to take care of us jivas. Meanwhile, it is our duty to perform our responsibilities properly towards ourselves, our family, society and nature. HH extended mangalasasanams to all for celebrating Our Acharya’s Birthday before leaving for New Delhi to attend the Sri Ramanujacharya Commemorative Stamp Release by Prime Minister Smn. Narendra Modiji.
Sri Ahobila Jeeyar Swamiji and Sri Devanattha Jeeyar Swamiji chanted Sri Ashtotthara Namavali and Thirunakshathra thaniyan offering many harathis to Bhagavad Ramanujacharya. The morning program concluded with thirttham and many varieties of prasadams. Thadiyaradhana with sumptuous dishes were served to all devotees.
In the afternoon, reviving the old art forms, JIVA gurukulam students performed ‘tholu bommalata’ – Shadow Puppets Show depicting the life history of Sri Ramanujacharya. It was really amazing to see the Vedic students expanding their horizons and showing their expertise in forgotten arts. Later, young and older boys dressed up as Ramanujacharya. It was a delightful sight to see so many Ramanujacharyas – right from 10 months old to a young man on the stage.
JIVA Gurukulam students too participated in the show. Everyone chanted Sri Ramanuja Ashtotthara namavali. Ahobila Jeeyar Swamiji and Devanattha Jeeyar Swamiji offered mangalasasanams to the participants.
Later, inthe evening, Sriman Gurujada along with his team of nearly 70 students dedicated their prayers to Sri Ramanujacharya by playing voilin. It was a fine sight to watch the students moving the bows in one rhythm. It was a feast to the ears to listen the melodious Sri Ramanujacharya bhajans and kirthans played by students aged from 8 years and above synchronizing with the artists on Veena, mridangam, pad etc.
Bhagavad Ramanujacharya came in a procession to the Saketha mandapam and blessed the artists. Sri Taraka Ramarao sang 4 songs and enthralled the audience. Sri Ahobila Jeeyar Swamiji and Sri Devanattha Jeeyar Swamiji appreciated their performances and gave mangalasasanams to the participants.
Afterwards, Ramanujacharya Swami seated on an elephant was taken in a procession around the temple led by kolatam by ladies, blowing of trumpets, beating of drums, devotees dancing in ecstacy amidst chanting of vedic hymns in glory of Swamy Ramanujacharya. It was a glorious sight to watch the grand procession. Sri Ramanujacharya beautifully adorned in saffron clothes with shimmering jewels sat majestically on the elephant with a loving look gracing all the devotees.
After the parade entered the temple, harathi was performed to Ramanujacharya Swamy concluding the day’s program with thirttha and prasada goshti.

After many years, Yamunacharya during his visit to Kanchipuram, saw Ramanujacharya from a distance and identified him as the Bhavishyad Acharya. Hence, before leaving the mortal world, he assigned 5 of his disciples to become gurus of Ramanujacharya and bestow him with knowledge of Vedas, Vedanthas and Divya Prabandham.
Thus even before Ramanujacharya was born 1000 years ago, His appearance was predicted 5000 years ago by our great saints. Ramanuja is extolled for his greatness as an acharya. There are many acharyas but Ramanujacharya is set apart for he became the acharya to Lord Sri Venkateswara by giving Him Sankha and chakra and pundra samskaram.

వివిధ ప్రాంతాల నుండి భక్తులు పెద్ద ఎత్తున ఆశ్రమానికి తరలి వచ్చారు. స్వామి వారి ఆశీస్సులు పొందారు. చిన్నజీయర్ స్వామీజీ ఆధ్వర్యంలో ఘనంగా పూజలు నిర్వహించారు.
భక్తులంతా ఆ రామానుజుడిని తలుచుకుంటూ మూల మంత్రాన్ని జపించాలని కోరారు. దీంతో పెద్ద ఎత్తున భక్తులు ఓం నమో రామానుజాయ అంటూ జపించారు. భక్తులను ఉద్ధేశించి స్వామి వారు అనుగ్రహ భాషణం చేశారు.
విశిష్టాద్వైత్వాన్ని విస్తృతంగా సమాజంలో ప్రసరించేలా చేసిన ఘనత రామానుజుల వారిదేనని చిన్నజీయర్ స్వామి కొనియాడారు. ఆయన చూపిన బాటలోనే అందరడం నడవాలని కోరారు. దైవమే మూలం, జీవులు, ప్రకృతి ఇవే ముఖ్యమని దీనిని అంతా గుర్తించాలని అన్నారు.
అహోబిలం స్వాముల వారు పూజ, తీర్థ గోష్టి నిర్వహించారు. ప్రసాద వితరణ చేశారు. అనంతరం స్వామి వారు విజయవాడకు బయలు దేరి వెళ్లారు. అక్కడ రామానుజ సహశ్రాబ్ది సందర్భంగా విజయకీలాద్రి ప్రదక్షిణ చేపట్టారు. ఆలయం చుట్టూ రామానుజల వారిని కీర్తిస్తూ భక్తులు పెద్ద ఎత్తున భజనల చేశారు.
నామ స్మరణతో ఆ ప్రాంతమంతా దద్దరిల్లి పోయింది. సాయం వేళలో తీర్థం, ప్రసాదాన్ని భక్తులకు అందజేశారు.
Nammalvar – a great saint, prophesied that acharya will be born on this earth in future who will uplift the mankind. Saying so, he gifted the Ramanuja vigraham to his disciple Sri Madhurakavi Alwar.
He in turn passed to his disciples. Sage Nathamuni received the vigraham in the lineage and handed it over to Alvandar also called Yamunacharya and as him to be on the look out to identify Ramanujacharya. After many years, Yamunacharya during his visit to Kanchipuram, saw Ramanujacharya from a distance and identified him as the Bhavishyad Acharya. Hence, before leaving the mortal world, he assigned 5 of his disciples to become gurus of Ramanujacharya and bestow him with knowledge of Vedas, Vedanthas and Divya Prabandham.
Thus even before Ramanujacharya was born 1000 years ago, His appearance was predicted 5000 years ago by our great saints. Ramanuja is extolled for his greatness as an acharya. There are many acharyas but Ramanujacharya is set apart for he became the acharya to Lord Sri Venkateswara by giving Him Sankha and chakra and pundra samskaram.
Such great Ramanuja’s millennium birth celebrations are going on. Let’s all chant His divine name “Om Namo Ramanujaya” and get His grace.

Bhagavad Ramanuja Sahasrabdi 1000th year Tirunakshathram celebrations started at Divya Saketham in the divine presence of HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, HH Ahobila Jeeyar Swamiji and HH Devanatha Jeeyar Swamiji.
In the morning after veda vinnapalu, navakalasa snapanam was offered to Bhagavad Ramanuja. Abhisheka thirttham was distributed to all the devotees. After decorating Sri Ramanuja Ashtotthara Satanama archana seva was offered to Sri Ramanuja.
In the evening Seshavahana Seva was offered in a grand manner to Bhagavad Ramanuja. Sri Ramanuja appeared with His bewitching beauty with Melkota Sampathkumara perumal sitting in His lap. After the procession U.Ve.Smn. Dr. Rangaramanujacharya Swami and HH Ahobila Jeeyar Swamiji explained the story behind procession deity i.e Bhagavad Ramanuja having Selvappillai in his lap. 1st day celebration concluded with theertha prasada goshtti.

Sri Dr. Rangaramanujacharya speaking on this occasion said that the contributions of Ramanujacharya are beyond imagination. He is an inspiration to many even today.
His stance on EQUALITY has become a path to be followed by all leaders. Infact Dr. Ambedkar addressed Sri Ramanuja as prominent social reformers who stood for Equality. Hence, HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji named the 216 feet vigraham of Ramanujacharya coming up in Samshabad as Statue of Equality. The evening program concluded HH Ahobila Jeeyar Swamiji’s mangalasasanams followed by thirttha and prasada gosthi.
