We have a saying, ‘Knowledge is power’. Does God have unique knowledge levels that make Him super power? We have another saying, ‘Love conquers all’. Does God love us all to such an extent which makes Him supreme? We also hear, ‘Look for three things in a person – intelligence, energy and integrity. If they don’t have the last one, don’t even bother with the first two.’ Is God the person with the uncompromising integrity and therefore a super power?

What do Vedas say about the unique attribute of God that makes Him super power?

Vedas state:

యతో వా ఇమాని భూతాని జాయంతే|
యేన జాతాని జీవంతి|
యత్ప్రయంత్య భిసంవిసంతి |
తద్విజిజ్ఞాసస్వ | తద్బ్రహ్మేతి |

God is the one:

  • who is neither bound nor limited in scope by anyone or anything in the entire existence
  • who has all that is required to get anyone out of karmic bondage
  • who exists in and controls both the worlds – the iha lokam (here) and para lokam (there!)

Wait a minute, He exists in both the worlds – here and there? If so, why is there a need to plead God for taking us to paramapadam?

iha Lokam (this world) Parama padam (the greater world)
Every experience here is a resultant of our past karma.
If an experience is pleasant, we are then relishing the seeds of a good deed.If an experience is bitter, we are then absorbing the ill-effect of a bad deed.
Whatever the experience is, it is only temporary and does not help in burning all the karma we have acquired over millions of births.
Every experience here is a resultant of our wish (sankalpam). All our wishes are powered by God’s will. Karma is no longer driving any of our experiences.
All our deeds here please God because they are in accordance to His will.
All the results of our deeds here are submitted to God.
Our deeds here consume the limited available energy and other resources (time and abilities etc, driven by karma) There is boundless amount of energy and resources available (all in accordance to our will, driven by God’s power)

That is why, even Nammalwar looks forward to reaching Paramapadam. God’s existence here is as real as it is over there. But, our karma keeps us attached to this samsa:ra vibhu:ti (samsa:ra refers to the ahankaram that is caused due to believing that we are the same as our body).

What can we do to reach parama padam? Turn on the Green Light!
