Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami is a very pious, kind, and a practitioner of Vedic knowledge. He is an extremely loving individual and very modest in his nature. His unparalleled drive to inculcate and spread the word of God and the greatness of Vedam has reached heights and breadths of this nation.

The name of the year in which Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami was born is ‘Sowmya’. It beautifully matches the characteristic of Sri Swamiji.

Let’s look at the year HE was born in: 1909. Let’s see if that shows any characteristic of Swami. When you add up the digits (1+9+9), it is 19 and you further add the digits 1 and 9 of 19, it leave you with 1. Number 1 signfies advitheeyam, uniqueness. The beauty of adding any digit to 9 is that it only leaves you with the same digit and takes away the presence of 9 entirely. For example: Add 4 to 9, It is 13. And now add the digits of 13, it leaves you with 4. So, when 4 was added to 9, the resulting answer was 4 itself. Sri Swamiji’s characteristic of letting the seekers shine when anyone approaches him is shown in this!

Now let’s see the star, Utharabadhra. It signifies the ‘protection’ he can offer as he sticks to the roots of right source of knowledge, Vedam.

How about the month in which he was born, ‘Nija Sravana’. The word sravana means ‘to let one listen’. HE spread good words that will alleviate people from suffering and bondage through right means and right source, Vedam.

It was very rare that Sri Swamiji got upset or angry. This emotion was under his control. He had let that anger come out in Badrinath when the local scholars were hindering a ‘Yagnam’ that Sri Swamiji planned to conduct for the prosperity and growth of good character in human kind. Sri Gopalacharya Swami consulted the scholars and asked them to participate in the ‘Yagnam’ by giving out the summary of a scripture that they plan to recite during the ‘Yagnam’. Soon after everyone heard that, the right and eligible scholars remained and took part in it. Even though they both have different ways of working, the balance that Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami and Gopalacharya Swami maintained to achieve the right outcomes was very inspiring and something that all of us should learn.

Krishnmacharya Swami, who is young in age but an erudite scholar, well-mannered, very humble had spent 8 years along with Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami and Gopalacharya Swami. We are very fortunate to have him accompany us in the project of Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabadi. He is very polite and has a keen eye in reviewing materials of scriptural references and works.

Today is Sravana Sukravaram, a day to remember and worship Lakshmi Devi. She recommends us and asks for Lords forgiveness after we committed sins knowing or unknowing. But, There is another set of great beings called ‘Acharyas’ who also help us in reaching Lord’s abode. But, they work with us in a way that we don’t commit any sins and live in accordance with Vedam. So, an Acharya’s role in our life is HUGE. It is also the same for me. They turn ‘matti (mud)’ into ‘mani (diamond)’. It is very fortunate that we have the lineage of Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami continue through Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami. Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami’s blessings are with me and that is why I am here in the JIVA asram serving for the right cause.

We are blessed to have spent time with Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami. I was about 14 years I believe when I first met Swamiji. When He asked if I would stay and learn scriptures, I just ‘Yes’ only because of the great thejas and aura that he has. Several great initiatives such as ‘108 Rama Sthupa’, ‘Yagnas’, ‘Women welfare and ways of worship’, ‘Opportunities for prisoners to learn and change their attitudes through prayers’, ‘Scholar meets and discourses for public’ are only a few that were taken up by Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami.

I then had the acquaintance with Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami who expanded the works of Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami many folds. Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami looks for me and asks for by name ‘Is Krishna there, Where is Krishna’ etc. I hope that he will ensure that I stay along with him when in Paramapadam (divine abode of Lord Vishnu) as well.

We feel blessed to take part in this auspicious day and occasion of Pedda Jeeyar Swami thirunakshtram. We also feel elated that my birth year also matches with that of Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami. It is so important that we all learn from our acharyas and become the carriers of their teachings. We have been travelling to spread of the project of ‘Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi’ and are happy to be here today to share the joy of celebrating the Thirunakstram of the great Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji.

I am not acquainted with Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami. However, I see Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami and gain strength through serving him so that I stay in Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami’s heart forever. I am called ‘Ahobala’ by Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami and I hope to use my ‘balam’ only to serve Sri Swamiji as long as I can. We should all taken an oath to work towards having our Sri Ramanuja Sri Murthi in JIVA asram as soon as possible. Let us all contribute monetarily by however much we can because this project is aimed at becoming the centre of all Vedic Heritage for generations and generations.

Such beautiful moments remembering Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami and his messages created a satvic atmosphere here in JIVA campus. Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami very actively and very happily gave the ‘Lakshmi prathima’ to everyone by himself no matter who paid or not for the prayer. He also served prasadam for everyone by himself in the ‘Prasada mandapam’. Swamiji’s compassion knew no bounds as he bent down and served for around 500 devotees! Such is the greatness of an Acharya, one whose love and warmth takes away the pain in people’s hearts and fills it with divinity that will only grow and grow till you become one with the ultimate power, Srimannarayana!
