Woman of a house carries major responsibility in shaping her family. When she is taken care of in all respects such as physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual levels, the entire family will benefit and a stronger, wiser, and compassionate next generation sprouts. If not, the society suffers and the next generations will not be at their best of abilities.

Scriptures say…
na gruham gruhamithya:du gruhini gruhamichyathe:
it is the woman who represents her home, not the physical structure called house

Prahlada is a child from ancient history remembered till date for his highest ideology. Abhimanyu was raised to be a greatest warrior at a young age, remembered for his skill and values. Both their mothers stayed in very serene, highly spiritual and holistically perfect environments during their pregnancy. Both the children heard great messages and teachings while they were in the womb. Doctors will appreciate that there is a divine energy that works through the entire process from the formation of zygote to the fully formed child.

The proteins, vitamins, iron, calcium etc that a mother must give to her child in the womb must not be limited to supplementing physical health, but also to nurture spiritual learning. Spiritual learning encompasses everything that’s required for a mind to take right calls and balance time to lead a peaceful yet highly effective and productive life.

Ramanujacharya, a 1000 years ago, spent 26 years in mastering spiritual knowledge. After that, he went around Bharath which at that time spanned from Vietnam in the east to Afghanistan in the west. Back then, women were not allowed to chant mantra, sacred word of God. They were not respected as they should be.

Amongst many social reforms that he brought out with the foundation of knowledge from spiritual learnings, he demonstrated through his conduct and enlightened others through his teachings that the first worship must go to the mother.

offer the mother your first worship

Hence, it’s critical that doctors not just address the illness and its cure, but also on educating and spreading awareness for a woman’s holistic care. Inspired by Ramanujacharya and the Vedic teachings about the importance of woman, we are offering services for the health of woman as part of Mahila Arogya Vikas initiative under the umbrella Vikasa Tarangini, an NGO since 2007, specially in an area that is untouched by NGOs and is a critical area that needs support.

Highlights of the services include

  • Cost effective and rightly powerful advanced colposcopy solution
    • Conventional colposcope used costed INR 2.25 lakh where as the native solution developed by our NGO costs INR 6000
  • VIA test (INR 5) instead of Pap Smear (INR 1000 to 3000) keeping in view of affordability of women of rural areas without compromising on standards of WHO recommendations
  • Improved reach in rural and other areas by partnering with Anganwadi members

The need now is to elevate the efforts of all of us and ensure the world tomorrow sees a healthier and stronger woman. We would like you to work on taking a mega initiative to develop easy to understand literature for women, avoiding any complex medical terminology, to empower her with information on all preventive care that she can utilize. Every woman should hold the guide and be able to utilize it whenever necessary.

For a brighter and stronger next generation, let us embrace the time tested vedic rich wisdom propagated by great acharya Ramanujacharya and empower women with all the holistic health.
