Recently, I met a friend whose niece is taking psychological consultation from a reputed doctor for having attempted suicides and other unwanted unhealthy habits. The niece is a BDS student. It was heart-breaking to think about what herself and her parents could be going through.

I came back home wondering what is making children so vulnerable these days despite being so educated and knowledgeable from big corporate schools. I was wondering what actually defines knowledge.

What is the purpose of a child being graduated from a college and not able to handle certain situations or take right decisions? Whenever I had any questions, I look up to my acharya’s teachings.

Fortunately, I got a chance to listen to his address to students at the opening ceremony of an educational institution on the same exact day at Ganges Valleys School in Nizampet. I felt God’s ways are amazing as long as we are open to receiving His teachings. With a hope to relieve children and young adults like that of my friend’s niece and her parents…

What is knowledge?

What is knowledge now a days

Wikipedia defines Knowledge as a familiarity, awareness or understanding of someone or something, such as facts, skills or objects. By most accounts, knowledge can be acquired in many different ways and from many sources, including but not limited to perception, reason, memory, testimony, scientific inquiry, education, and practice.

Sage Parasara, father of Vedavyasa defined vidya, knowledge as

sa: vidya: ya: vimukthaye:

Knowledge is that which liberates or relieves one (from current state of pain/stress to a better state). It can be any field from a graduate student seeking a career to someone who is seeking ultimate liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji Sage Parasara defines Knowledge

Such an in-depth definition and insight into what knowledge should be!  This was thousands and thousands of years ago by the rushis, sages!

Knowledge is that which secures the seeker with right components and abilities necessary to reach the next step in the path to the desired better state. Students of great teachers like Chanakya graduated from Gurukula with all-rounded such abilities that they were able to rebuild a falling empire. Not just health and engineering, but every stream of knowledge!

There are so many elements of such wisdom to learn from our history. Sri Ramachandra demonstrated what globalisation is by the way He dealt with Sugreeva and Ravana. He protected their kingdoms and gave them the ownership to rule it after eliminating the evil even though He had the power to rule the kingdoms.

He gave ample chances to Ravana before having to kill him. The goal for any human being is to root out any evil element and let individual/community/country flourish further without hurting their innate nature. This was our globalization, making everyone able without hurting any of the local glory.

Life is much larger than what we think it is. There is no reason to end life or enter any unhealthy habits or dominate others. Give yourself chances to correct the mistake and learn from Elders. Our lifestyle is driven by such great morals and healthy methods that can keep the entire existence and ourselves in a joyous state.
